Okay, I'm ready to talk about the events that happened over the weekend.
Friday I took leave to take care of mom's every needs as she stayed home to recuperate from her fibroid procedure. She was already fine & back to her normal self by the time i went to see her at NUH on Thursday. Her procedure was at 11.30 and lasted 2.5 hours. Before she went into the operating theatre, she sms me to say that the nurses would call me to let me know which ward she will be. So i waited. After 2, my brother Dennis msg'd me to inform me of her ward no. Why had they not called me? So i decided to ring the hospital number which she gave me. Nurse said i should call the theatre nurses' ward coz that's where mom is. So i rang the new number and they told me that she's resting in the operating theatre waiting to be wheeled to her bed. "We will call you once she's warded", they said. Okay, so i waited & waited....still no call. Decided to call back and they asked me to ring another number which is her bed phone. So i rang that and finally someone picked up. It wasn't mom. Instead this lady was muttering something about 'the patient is not warded in here'...so i was abit confused. Apparently it was a nurse who picked up the phone and i found out from her that mom had not arrived to her ward yet. So my question was: Why ask me to ring that number when they had not even warded her. Obviously, there was some kind of communication breakdown between the nurses. Finally, managed to get her at 4-ish. What an ordeal!
So Friday I had an early start. Left home at 9am to go supermarket to get groceries to cook for mom. Sis-in-law sms me in the morning to say that Amanda did not go to school coz she woke up late and looked very tired. And since i'm on leave, she suggested i bring Amanda, Samuel & maid Marina home in the afternoon with mom. Not a good idea...coz mom needs REST. So instead, I just picked up Amanda to visit 'Ah Niang' (Grandma) at the hospital. Mom called to say she can be discharged after lunch. So home i went with 4 bags of groceries and it was pouring with rain that day! Haven't cooked for such a long time....not that i'm rusty but just had to re-acquaint myself with the kitchen again. Lucky thing, Calvin was there to help with cutting of vegetables. Oh, Amanda helped too! She helped make Ah Niang's medicine soup for her. Cooked the fish slices that's good for healing with ginger & spring onion, stir-fried french beans and potato/tomato soup. Finished cooking at 12, mom called at 12.15 to say that she was starving. She fasted since Wednesday and had not eaten a proper since then. She chowed down the food and said it was the best meal she ever had! Not that my cooking was fantastic...more like she was too hungry. ;p End up all of us ate in the hospital with my cooking and the hospital food combined.
After a long wait, mom finally checked out at about 1.30pm. we went home and i put amanda to sleep for her afternoon nap. Left together with Calvin to dive shop. Stayed there till about 5 then had to rush to Serangoon Road to drop off some old clothes to a women's shelter. traffic along serangoon is mad! By the time i got home it was already almost 6pm. Back in the kitchen again to cook dinner for mom.
whole day was a mad rush. In the evening, i had to squeeze in some time to visit Cat at KK hospital as she had just given birth to baby Joash the night before. Was the last visitor when everyone had left...and managed to catch Joash as his mummy was wheeling him to the baby's nursery. He sure has a big head of hair and very black too! just like his mummy's CB hair! hahaahah...not so curly though. Still hard to tell who he looks like...we'll have to wait till he's about a month old! So happy for Cat & Han San...they must be such proud parents...especially Cat coz she used to always complain about her biological clock ticking. Brought amanda with me to visit them...and she was making a hell of a lot of noise singing, and chatting a lot. I could tell Cat & Jeff were not too happy with her noise-making...but i said to them...'you're just gonna have to get used to it...your time will surely come'.
Left them at about 9.30pm and brought amanda home. She was obviously very tired....couldn't walk straight....and asked me to carry her. That's a sign of tiredness..haha.
Well that was my Friday...packed & chock-a-block!
Saturday was slightly more relaxing till the monsters came. So whole afternoon was spent looking after them. Poor samuel fell down from mom's bed after his nap. He fell flat on his nose and was crying so loud that it was so painful to see. Had to quickly check him to make sure he's okay...no broken bones or cuts or bleeding. After about 5 mins of crying hard, we noticed his nose was bleeding slightly. so mom insisted that he go to the clinic. Both parents were out running errands, so i took him to the clinic together with marina. He was okay after that. Lucky doc said nothing serious. Poor baby...this wasn't the first time he's fallen either. He's fast! Started to crawl already and has a small little tooth slowly creeping out. These little ones just grow so fast.
Now looking for a nice blog skin but still trying to figure out how to download the skins. Still so much refurbishing to do.
preferably, if i could customize my own...but that could take a while.
Yippeee....geoff helped me to load some new games into my PSP...and got rid of the not-so-fun games. So now, i'll have to decide what game i wanna play tomorrow. ;p
so many things to decide in the mornings....what clothes to wear, what accessories to use, what shoes to wear, what eye shadow color to use, what bag to carry......what game to play on PSP!!!

trying not to blog abt PSP...TRYING!

trying to think of something to type but keep seeing coloured balls flash past my eyes....sigh...well i've been frustrated with my PSP games coz i just can't get past 'Path of the Golden Goddess'....and kept having to repeat the stage over & over again! Irritating....until i decided to switch to a kooshi game....hitting baseballs at nerds who gate crash the chio buh party, and trying to kill the 'micheal jackson thriller ghosts' and stop them from attacking the librarian-looking auntie.
but earlier tonite, i attempted to play luxor again and managed to clear the stage!!! Woohooo...
okay jeannie's whining....gotta take her down for her last pee for the day...

Day 3 with PSP

So far so good...The only game i can play now is Luxor...which Geoff recommended to me. I guess it's a very "girl's" game as Ben likes to put it. Similar to Marble-something game i think...where you shoot coloured balls to similar coloured balls which are side-by-side. Minimum would have to be two balls and the ball you shoot will form the third ball to destroy the balls. The objective of the game is to reduce the long trail of multicoloured balls before they enter into the next zone of the Egyptian country. Dun make sense???? Well, you're just gonna have to play the game.
I will try to reach all the stages of this game then proceed to some car-racing game.

Still trying to figure out how to load more than one photos....Ben you can help guide me? Do i need to link to a website to show the photos? Also, am i suppose to load my videos onto youtube or google first before loading a video onto the blog? Sheesh...so restrictive.
Kirsten in my blog list is using multiply....she says it's good....hmmm maybe i'll go check it out.

Cat sent an sms to update us that her baby Joash is 'engaged'....so i'm like...what the hell is engaged? like engage the gear ah? So she explained that little Joash is ready to come out...so she's now resting at home and waiting i guess! hahaha....I'm so excited for her.
Have bought a cute baby blue beanie for Joash and a pretty pink one with butterfly embroidery for Hana, Azman & Juju's daughter. Les, geoff, calvin, chris & a bunch of siemens germans are taking the train up to Perhentian for an all-guys weekend. Wish i could go coz i'd love to see baby Hana but mom's having an operation on Thursday...so i'll need to stay back to tend to her needs while she's resting & recuperating.

I have a new friend!

I made a new friend on Sunday. It was definitely not planned. HE is white, cool, sleek and comes in a great package overall! A great companion for someone like me....We hit it off right away coz he's really loads of fun...animated, entertaining and so addictive to spend time with him! We took the train this morning and the train ride was the shortest train ride I've ever taken. We engaged in each other so intensely that I almost missed my stop at Tanjong Pagar. This is definitely one train ride I did not want to end. I just wanted to go on until Changi Airport station and then back again. But.......I had to go to work. :( So instead, I had to quickly push my way out of the train and make another appointment with my friend to spend time again SOOOON! Am I in love? No, not yet. Am I in lust? ........Maybe. :) So you're probably curious how an ice like me can suddenly melt into water so quickly. This new friend of mine is PlayStation Portable aka PSP!!! Muahahhaaahaaaahaa..... What did you all think? That it's gonna be a hot, white hunk? hehehe....I'm still dreaming! Who cares about the white knight when you have the PSP?

Some people have DSLRs, I have my PSP. So why would i wanna get a PSP, you might ask? Or as Ben was asking....why didn't you get the nintendo instead? It's more for girls coz the PSP has more action games rather than 'female'. One word: SEXIST!

Anyway, i'm not out to prove that this is not going to be a 3-minute heat thing or 'san fen zhong re du' (excuse my hanyu pinyin). I thought it would be great for me to kill time on the 10-minute mrt ride, while i'm idling waiting for things or people and especially when i'm travelling on dive trips! It will help fill a void when everybody starts engaging in a conversation about strobe this, lens that which is still mind-boggling to me.

So, IPOD in my ears, PSP in my hands....SHIOKEST!

Who's the original blogger?

Have forced myself to set up my blog space for the THIRD time. First attempt was on blogspot also...but i have no idea what happened to it...but luckily not much time & effort was put into it so it was quite skeletal to look at. A bit like me (hmmm....cannot put in emoticons ah?). 2nd attempt was on myspace.msn but i was suay enough to be kicked out of my own hotmail & msn account (suspect someone hacked into my account). So now...to my shock & horror (not really but it's nice to exaggerate sometimes), Lester and Ben's blogs have links to my non-existant blog. It doesn't make sense to have an empty house, so I've decided to move in ala a new address and bring in some new furniture and interior-decorate my new pad....make it my own cosy sanctuary....

So back to my title for my first entry....I'm pretty sure that Carrie Bradshaw from Sex & the City was the original blogger...as low tech as she is....she WAS actually blogging. Just that it was a different medium...on a newspaper column rather than online. Wouldn't it be great to have a job like hers and blog all day about life, love & sex and get paid a disgusting amount of money to buy myself a walk-in wardrobe full of jimmy choos & manolo blahniks? I guess I will continue dreaming and watch more of her until Season 6 for my make believe fashionista life. Not that I'm a fashionista...more of a part-time one. I'm not really a full-time fashionista...if i were, i don't think i would have fallen in love with diving. I'd be clubbing, and hanging out at Orchard and buying at www.fashionista-wannabe.com.

So am i a late adopter? Not really....just a slow starter.
Anyway, what's wrong with being a bit behind? Everyone has their own pace in doing things. I do things only when i'm ready to.
